We are middle aged dads with young children.
For whatever reason, we got a late start when it came to kids. Or, started again after a long break. Either way, we're now in our 40's and 50's, and we're trying to figure out how to be the best dads we can be.
Good news is compared to our 20's & 30's, we've got some cash. Enough cash to buy a house, a car, and a few other things. We've also got a bit of time on our hands, and we're not afraid to use it.
We've seen some shit, and learned a thing or two along the way. We've got the patience and wisdom to deal with our kid's antics and not lose our cool (too often). Bring on the tantrums and the teenage angst – we're ready for it all.
We drink beer. Really tasty craft ales. 🍺
(Apparently, some of us drink wine, and a few of us don't drink at all. But we're not here to judge.)
Now that we're nice and seasoned, we've got a solid crew of friends and family who've got our back. That's a kick-ass support network for us and our little person. We've got people we can count on, and that's worth its weight in gold.
After grinding away at work for years, we've finally earned some flexibility. We can be there for our kid's soccer games, school plays, and everything in between. We're not just some paycheck provider – we can be a hands-on, fully present dad.
We've checked out the science, and we know that a dad bod just isn't going to cut it. We eat right, exercise hard, and are doing our damndest to make sure we live the longest life science and genetics are going to give us.
We know time's ticking, so we make every second count. Those precious moments with our kid? They're the best part of our day, hands down. We're all about creating memories and soaking in the joy of fatherhood. Time flies, but we're not letting a single moment slip through our fingers.
We're working, every single day, to be the greatest dads we can possibly be.
